Balling on the 4th--Crazy Light 2s

 

I do play ball on Wednesdays and tomorrow will be no exception. While I'm actually balling in my Bulls colorway adizero Crazy Lights 2s, I'm thinking this Olympic colorway is the crispest I've seen in a minute...

adizero Crazy Light 2 coming out blazing!

adidas Basketball today unveiled the adizero Crazy Light 2. Weighing 9.5 ounces, it replaces its predecessor - the adizero Crazy Light  (9.8 ounces) - as the lightest shoe in basketball (nearly 10 percent lighter than the nearest competitor's. )

If it's as comfortable as the Crazy Light, which I still ball in regularly, count me in! 

 

According to adidas, the increased strength of the adizero Crazy Light 2 comes from an enlarged asymmetrical SPRINTFRAME, allowing for maximum motion control. Designers added volume to the midsole for a more supportive base.  The new aerodynamic three-layer SPRINTWEB is the thinnest ever, with a tighter web that gives players enhanced vertical and horizontal strength. Overall, the shoe's new geometry allows for maximum weight savings, energy return and motion control.
 

 

The adidas news website lists all sorts of elite men wearing these kicks: at the McDonald's All-American high school game, the men's Final Four, and the upcoming NBA playoffs. Funny, no word on the WNBA, women's Final Four or girls' Mc D All-Americans...  Come on adidas!

On sale May 24th, $140. They should start in a men's 6 or 7, which I appreciate. Check adidas.com, footlocker.com and eastbay.com.

Stone wash Vans! iWant

Usually stone wash anything can look like a bad 80's flick but these new stone wash Vans don't. A nice yet subtle stone wash on these Vans authentic's make stone was awesome again. Definitely perfect the spring/summer 2012 season. Now if I can get this stone wash Marc by Marc Jacobs tote to match with these Vans my life would be complete.

Joyrich LA Sneakers

Eccentric LA Brand Joyrich just released they're very own line of sneakers. Joyrich went with a Chuck Taylor-like silhouette but kept their funky/eccentric prints as the design. I am a big fan of Joyrich clothing and I'm definitely digging the bone collection one. Each sneaker costs $112, which is on the pricey side of life but they are good quality. Sizes runs in a women's 6-10. These are available at Karmaloop.

I know that was mad corny but I have a jones for these Patta X Asics Gel Saga II! The colorway, the accented piece of pony hair and the laces give me fever! These are definitely going to be on my cop list. Word on the internetz is that they may drop this month or sometime next year. So if your feeling these like I am, be on the look out.

More fun for Chicago--Meet Derrick and Check his new Shoe!

On Saturday, October 15 basketball star Derrick Rose will introduce Chicago to his new shoe, the adiZero Rose 2. D Rose will celebrate the shoe's launch with fans at the adidas store on Michigan Avenue and the Foot Locker on State Street. (Fans are encouraged to arrive early as photo ops with Derrick are on a first come, first served basis.)

Adidas just dropped a new Samba for us female sneaker fiends in a nice sharp blue colorway. I've always was fond of the basic black/white/gum sole Samba but with the sharp blue colorway and grey sole, it really compliments the silhouette. I'm really digging these! Another Grey sneaker release: AM1 "Wolf Grey"

Nike is really taking this whole "grey" trend to the next level. The next release in this grey line up is the Air Max 1 "wolf grey". I don't really have a problem with the shoe or the color. These are clean and are right up my alley but I'm frankly tired of all these "cool grey" or "wolf grey" releases. Can we name it something else?! Between this grey and "South Beach" colorways I guarantee these two will be beat to death by the end of the year.

Crazy Lights live up to billing

I got my Crazy Lights last week and finally got to ball in them tonight. I've been balling all week, but outdoors, and these babies aren't up for that. (The outsole would be smooth way too quick; I'm worried about that even indoors.) SO...I waited. Tonight it was worth the wait! Here are my initial thoughts...

• Great fit for my narrow feet. Really comfortable on the 1st wear.
• The gym was almost 100 degrees and my feet weren't hot. Super ventilation.
• The lightness did make me feel quicker. I definitely had more steals and fast breaks than usual!
  
• They squeak! A lot. But you get used to it.
  
• I do want to try the sturdier insoles. I forgot to bring them along, and at times I felt I could have used more cushioning.
• And as a sneaker fiend as well as a ball player, I did love all the compliments I got on them! They look GOOD.
• My team won.

Another Undefeated X Puma Collab canvas edition

Undefeated has teamed up with Puma again to release a canvas version of the Puma Clyde. They didn't completely leave the the whole shoe canvas though. There is a nice touch of leather on one side of the Puma stripe. Definitety feeling the material change and I'm also feeling the blue ones. These are slated to release on Friday June 10th.

Nike Air Max 1 Honeycomb/White-Blue Spark

Out now at Nike is the Air Max 1 Honeycomb/White-Blue spark. The honeycomb color is a nice touch from the normal bright colors that are used for spring and the blue bottom definitely pulls the look of the shoe together. The White Pack

Next for release is the Nike Dunk Hi "White Pack". The shoe is made up of crackled leather with a glossy finish and lets not forget that icy sole. These are a little blah for me with the exception of that sole. Nothing makes me happier than icy or gum sole. If you are attending a white party in the Hamptons this would be the shoe to go with. But as for me I'll pass. Thoughts?

New collab: Concepts X New Balance 999 "The Kennedy"

Next to be released, is the Concepts X New Balance 999 called "The Kennedy". This sneaker is paying tribute to former U.S. President John F. Kennedy and his love for sailing. These are not my taste but these are decent. The colorway I must say is neutral, clean and "very summer". I will say this though Concepts always does good when they collab with sneaker brands so props to them! These are due to release April 2. **Update** The release date for these have been pushed back to April 16th!
