SNEAKER STORE SPOTLIGHT: JD SPORTS

Being a Sneaker Fiend over 20 yrs, I've come across many hidden gems.  From mom and pop stores to slept on sneaker chains, JD Sports is a great combination of both.  Located in the UK, I've been a consumer of theirs for a couple years now.

I was recently asked to select an item to try out from the store and I chose Nike Air Max 1. Introduced in 1987, the Air Max 1 has been a favorite of Sneaker Fiends like myself which made my choice a no brainer. Air Max's are one of the most comfortable silhouettes that Nike makes and always stylish as far as the colorway goes.  The package arrived a little over a week from the order date, a big plus knowing about international shipping horror stories that has taken a month or more.

One thing that JD Sports offers are "only at JD" items, which are items that are exclusive to store. Some Sneaker Fiends like to have "exclusives"......still getting the joy of being asked "where'd you get those?!". Another handy lil tidbit being a buyer of international stores, JD has one of the lowest international shipping charges.

With Christmas around the corner, check out JD Sports.  The website is easy to navigate and if you're in the UK there's several retail locations.  There's something for everyone from sneakers to apparel & accessories and you'll get your package in time for the holidays.

Nike Air Max 1 "Purple Suede"

Nike is at it again with this all purple everything Air Max 1 that I've dubbed the "purple rain". The pair features an upper with 3 shades of plush suede, blended together on this classic silhouette.

I usually shy away from sneakers with purple and pink shades because brands seem to think that those are the colors we females like most.  I'll admit, these contrast colors are well put together.  This pair scheduled for summer 2013, is definitely one to look out for!

Another Grey sneaker release: AM1 "Wolf Grey"

Nike is really taking this whole "grey" trend to the next level. The next release in this grey line up is the Air Max 1 "wolf grey". I don't really have a problem with the shoe or the color. These are clean and are right up my alley but I'm frankly tired of all these "cool grey" or "wolf grey" releases. Can we name it something else?! Between this grey and "South Beach" colorways I guarantee these two will be beat to death by the end of the year.

Sneaker Budgetnista

Sneaker Budgetnista is what I crowned myself as of late. Usually I would throw down cash for a sneaker that I wanted but being that I became a "big girl" now it ain't that type of party. My two new sneaker purchases were absolute steals!! First up, is the Jordan Spizike "stealth" in black. I've seen these before when they first came out and wasn't too sure of them but when my girl and fellow FSF blogger Loni came down to NYC with them on I was like I need these! So I started my mission to cop these babies. Everywhere I looked had the retail price of 115. I was clearly not going to pay that. These have been out for quite sometime and there was no way they were still 115. I was just about to give up when the lovely Miss Feeway730 called me and told me that Niketown in Woodbury commons had them for 69.99 I was like for real?!! I'm on it! So I called Niketown and ordered them. With shipping and tax the total was $83.00.

My next pair that I copped was the air max 1 silver foil for Opening Ceremony. This shoe was part of a pack that came out in 2008 for the 2008 Olympics. They had a gold and a silver pair and supposedly there was 60 pairs made of each colorway. I remember I wanted the silver pair but wasn't trying to pay $160 which is retail price. So I let them slide. Well two days before Thanksgiving I was on ebay just browsing some kicks when I saw them!! This seller was selling them in my size which is a wm sz 8(6.5 in men) for (wait for it) $35.00 w/free shipping!! I quickly pressed the buy now button. And the best part of it all is they have never been worn! They came in the mail yesterday and I was percolating around the house! Funny thing is Flight Club still has these for $160. Lol

Now that I got two dope pairs of kicks at awesome prices, I shall be making it a new sport!

Can't wait till they're on my feet! No official word in its release.

Nike Women Air Max 1 Julep/White/Matte Silver

In 1987, Nike released a kick that changed the entire world of sneakers, the Nike Air Max 1. 23 years later, they're releasing a brand new Air Max 1 that smells like the 80s and most important thing, it's in women's sizes!

This Air Max 1 rocks an old school colorblocking with bright-colored details like orange and yellow that make the perfect couple.

These kicks are available now at Purchaze.

Hi everyone!!!
So pissed that I'm stuck here on the other side of the world while all you ladies are barbequing and Sneaker Pimping. If you're wondering where I've been at....I'm moving to Amsterdam (Fee and Jeff...I´m expecting a visit!!!), so I've been laying low and paying off my credits so that I can get out of here before I go completely postal. And it's been easy, no kicks for two months. And honestly the only kicks that have gotten my heart rate up lately are the Nike Air Max 1 OG´S. And yes, I´m coppin' both colors.

And I might get the women's Safari AM1. They're growing on me.....

A trend that I don't mind...

is the woven trend. I see Nike is channeling their inner basket weaver. Out of the two I say the air max is my favorite. Just as long as they keep clean and simple colorways the woven trend is a keeper!  The Air Max's are available at Caliroots.
And the blazers are available at RMK
