South Beach Lebron 8 Release Party!!!

So last week NDC had us gassed about their release of the HOT, HOT, HOT "South Beach/Miami" Lebron VIII, pushing the date back to this Friday the 19th which had many of us MAD! I guess the least they could do was celebrate the release with a party to make up! WHATEVER! This Thursday night Footaction will have release parties in 3 cities..NYC, ATL, & MIAMI starting at 10, so no need to keep checking your cell around 11:59 pm to call your orders in!

Sneaker Pimps Hit Miami

THE AIR MAX LEBRON VIII

Ok I jumped on the bandwagon a little late! Initially when I saw the Nike Air Max Lebron VIII I wasn't impressed and kinda upset about the follow up to the VII. I wasn't thrilled about the paneling of flywire and leather/suede. After seeing the Hardwood Classic (HWC) from the Sneaker Pimps Tour in Chicago my Lebron light switched back on! This weekend to celebrate the grand opening of a new HOUSE OF HOOPS in Miami at the Dadeland Mall, the highly anticipated SOUTH BEACH/MIAMI VICE/PRE HEAT edition drops and I MUST HAVE THESE!!! The AMLB VIII features a 360 Air Max cushion bubble all along the outsole which is great for a New Yorker like myself who walks alot. There is in fact less flywire which is only along the rear of the shoe as opposed to the VII which dominated the upper. On the tongue there is the mighty Lebron Lion, or for the CHINA edition, a traditional dragon mask. The rest is either full grain leather or nubuck suede throughout the upper. Miami Photoshoot Footage!

Charissa (aka CMS, on left) and Jen Jen were phenomenal hosts! They even let Amanda pretend to own a mess of kicks =) (see below) But most of all, they let us stay with them, showed us a great time, drove us to all the shoots, and really made us feel at home. We almost didn't leave!

Lala at Miami Beach--who knew there were 2 Lala's who loved kicks, and who were both near Miami's Nikki Beach at the same time? We almost missed our shoot after the other one told us she was wearing high heels not kicks. Good thing we got it straight, cuz this one was ready to go with beautiful art and a whole family supporting her!

It was Amanda's favorite place to shoot, too! We almost lost her to the beach....

The femalesneakerfiend chapter of Southern Florida is doing it again! This crew holds it down for the ladies, and our party with them last year was off the hook! I felt so lucky to be down there to meet the crew. They have some sick collections (even in small sizes and off-the-beaten-path vintage), and the line up they have for talent looks great too. (Don't miss another sneaker battle hosted by Lala and Lex One, either. You better know your sneaker history, cuz Lala will put you out there!) This year's event is headed up by the Randumbmiami dynamic duo of Relz and Chef, as well as CMS (aka Miss Face, gotta listen to this up and coming DJ!) and the rest of the FSF SoFlo mamas.
