PF Flyers Spring Center Hi Brights

Rumor has it that Spring is coming in a few months, and these kicks are almost enough to convince me! Never mind the 20 inches of snow due in Boston this week, PF Flyers is making me dream of grass and sunshine with these fun Center Hi Brights. Available online at shoppfflyers.com and going down to a men's 4. $50.

PF Flyer Double Tongue

PF Flyers have taken their classic leather Center Hi and added a tongue! They're not the first ones to do that of course (Converse Chucks, adidas), but it looks pretty cool here...

$89.99 HERE. Starts in a size 4 men's!

Summer Sneaks - PF Flyers Center Hi

Available in 13 vibrant colorways, the new Center Hi kicks from PF Flyers add fun and flair to your cool summer style! This iconic 50's sneaker has been updated just a bit for today's fashionista while still keeping essential elements like the trademark ribbed toe bumper and canvas upper. I especially like how the laces match the upper keeping it uniform so your outfit can be mixed up. Get yourself a pair or 2 HERE for $50!

PF Flyers celebrating the Celts!

As Celtics fans know, point guard Rajon Rondo passed Celtic great Bob Cousy for some big records this year, including most assists in a season. Far from being a hater, Cousy has emphasized his enthusiasm about the first Celtic to lead the league in steals. And in honor of the old skool great, PF Flyers is releasing the Cousy in a high top and the Glide (an 80s fave) in a Celtic green colorway as well. Check em out...

PF Flyer Rambler

PF Flyers has been carving their niche in the sneaker/fashion world by pulling out their archival classics and putting some fine new details in, usually in terms of high end materials and interesting colors. This time they've taken the 1943 Rambler and kept it true to style with most of the updates being inside the shoe. In case you don't know, the PF stands for "Posture Foundation", and this time they've added a sole insert that makes this classic shoe extra comfortable. The insert has an antimicrobial moisture-wicking wedge, new EVA molded wedge, and a gel-injected heel for increased cushioning and comfort. That's what I call using new school technology for good! Imagine if Converse started doing this with Chucks? I could actually wear them!

Out this Spring in black and natural, $70 lo and $80 hi. I'm not sure of the smallest size...

PF Flyers SPORTING LIFE Spring 2010 Collection

RAMBELER HI ORIGINAL & RE-ISSUE

Thursday night I went out to cover some sneaker events and the PF Flyers event turned out to be the coolest one! Situated in a cozy loft with dim lighting and comfy seating areas throughout the space, I was able to really soak in what the 2010 Sporting Life Collection is about. PF Flyers has been around for at least 70 years and started with a great basketball sneaker, but has evolved into so much more! The collection immediately inspires casual fun with vulcanized rubbers, nylons, suedes and leathers complimenting each other in various style designs. I especially loved the Bob Cousy Hi All American in black canvas as well as the Astor & Glide collection which you will see in the pics below

PF Flyer New Vantages

PF Flyers is reintroducing more kicks from their Archival Reissue Collection. This time it's their Vantage tennis kicks, first out in the 1940s, and now updated with new materials like waxed "osnaburg/suede". (What is that?) This is a classy low slung look, and available in both men's and women's sizes. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue and zappos.com. $80.

These would look great with those Upper Playground DWP hoodies, right?

Hightop Bob Cousy's from PF Flyer

Last year PF Flyers honored the Celtic great Bob Cousy by re-releasing his signature shoe from 1956...and the Celtics won the NBA Championship! Well, things aren't looking that smooth for us Celtics fans this year (injuries, epic struggles in the first round, etc), so you can only imagine how excited I was to see that PF Flyers is releasing a hightop version of the sneaker! This must mean we're going all the way! Go Celtics! (And I love the hightop...)

The unique "gull wing closure" opens on the hightops as well:

They're $75 at pfflyers.com or revolveclothing.com, and they come out all the way down to a men's 4. Yay!

PF Flyer SportShu Release Event

This uber-simple baseball shoe from the 1940s is being re-released as an Archival Reissue from PF Japan. Not surprisingly, it's coming out in very limited quantities, high end materials and intense attention to vintage detail. Not sure the smallest sizes yet. If you're interested, get yourself to the Conveyor party in Cali or head online to PF Flyers.

PF Flyer's New Bob Cousy's...and more

PF Flyers are bringing the Bob Cousy back for Spring, but with some of the high end materials and fashion-forward colorways that they're getting known for (officially: Italian bead-embossed leather, metal woven mesh and transparent gum rubber). They look way fancier than my bright green ones... all grown up and ready for club-hopping I think. Would you wear them with jeans or a skirt? They come as small as a men's 4, so they could look really cute on the right foot (including mine!). $110.

For a little more casual look, you could go for the oiled canvas ($80):

And if you prefer a high top, the Center Hi's retail for $90 and are made of metal woven mesh.

To order or to learn more about their Spring line and materials, check pfflyers.com.

PF Flyers honors Celtic Bob Cousy

If this simple, beautiful low top doesn't just breathe "Spring" on a nasty rainy day, then buy them for the fact that Bob Cousy was one of the nastiest point guards of all time...in these! Take it back to '57...and go Celts! (dropping at stores this Friday, but the all white and blue-white colorways are already available on Zappos.com, down to a men's 5).
