New Balance "Outdoor Jacket" MTG580...

Wow, these upcoming MTG580s from New Balance are sweeeeet. I love them all. These are allegedly inspired by outdoor jackets (not to mention the current rage for all-one-color kicks, which I really like). Great materials (including waterproof goretex), great colors and textures...you even get both regular laces (my choice) or bungee style ones with lace locks. The folks at Streething say these are only gonna be available in Southeast Asia in January. I hope we get them a little closer!

(note to all crease-haters: Goretex does crease. See above.)

Fila's bringing out some new kicks "just for the ladies". These two variations on a theme are called the Melrose and the Melrose Scarf. No word out yet as to whether Nas will be sporting them...

It's not everyday you get kicks from Chile. Do you have any?? Okay, then. The nice folks at Support Footwear gave me the honor of being one of the first in the US to rock their kicks, and I think it's pretty cool to have a brand launching from WAY outside of the Portland ordinary. Although I don't usually go in huge for the skater kicks, I'm gonna rock these with pride.

OSD wants you to represent your 'hood on what people are wearing and sneakers folks are looking forward to being released. Here's your opportunity to your own Internet Sneaker Show with YOU as the star!!


OSD Ambassador Program Overview:

The OSD Ambassador Program (OSDAP) enlists sneaker personalities and enthusiasts from around the United States and the world to cover the sneaker-scene, from their perspective and on their community, all-the-while allowing their personality to shine through.

The video footage must be filmed (mini-DV or Hard Drive) and edited by the Ambassador, edited and featured on one or both OSD video channels— www.o-s-d.tv and www.wosd.tv.

Why should YOU become an OSD Ambassador?

Because it's a great way to get you film career off the ground by documenting a topic that has far reaching interests.

Because what film-maker or reporter, new or old, wouldn't want to submit content to their core audience knowing that it will be viewed and appreciated?

Because the OSD Ambassador Program allows you to connect with other like-minded people that are some of the sneaker culture's premiere personalities and business people. Being an OSD Ambassador may assist you in creating other business ventures that may or may not be sneaker-related.

And last, but certainly not least, because everyone needs an outlet for expressing their love for sneakers. We've created it, so why not use it? If you don't someone else will. Believe that!

We Did it!!!

Yes history is finally being made!!!! I never thought this day would come. And thanks to us, we have finally have an African-American President!!!!!

I AM PART OF HISTORY!!!!

Ladies & Gents! Boys & Girls! Dogs & Cats!!! I JUST VOTED!!!!! AND LET ME TELL YOU..IT FELT SOOOOOOO GOOOOD!!!!! I had to be at work this morning at 6am so I could not do it this morning. While I was at work all I kept thinking about was casting my ballot for Obama and history! After the event that I worked, a co-worker and I had to pick up a truck in Northern New Jersey and GOT LOST!!! I was freaking out because I still had to do a report once I got back to my office! I got back to the office around 4pm, finished the report by 6pm, and started to help my co-worker get ready for our event tomorrow when...our van started to act like it was on strike!!! I then had to call our fleet manager and troubleshoot what was wrong with our recently serviced van, which took another half hour!!!! Once we got the van back on point, I then turned to my co-worker and told her we had to go! I had to drive her home because she didn't drive in, and she lives in Manhattan while I live at the top of The Bronx!!! Once I dropped her off and told her to go straight to the polls, I hit 70mph on the FDR Drive to get to the polls myself! All I kept seeing in my head were those long lines televised all week from the early voting states and said to myself, "Self, we are about to be part of history! No matter how long that line is we are going to stand on it, make new friends, chat with old friends, and LIKE IT!" Well, when I arrived on my block around 8:15pm, I was met with surprise..NO LINE!! Whew! I just rushed myself on in there with a smile and told the lady my name so I could finally make it happen! Folks..today was probably the most memorable day in my life..better than any birthday or holiday I can remember. This election means so much to me and millions of others..I could not and did not let anything stand in my way!

This year, he and Tracy McGrady got their own Election Night kicks to spread a message he's been saying for a while: get out and vote. He's also been clear who he's voting for (Obama), but adidas insisted that these kicks just meant to encourage folks to vote............what do you think?

GET OUT THE HOUSE Photo Contest

We get lots of photos of sneakers and sneaker fiends at FSF, but this month we're looking for something different: "GET OUT THE HOUSE!" is our November photo contest, and we mean it. Show your sneakers a good time! Take them somewhere nice...

Here are the contest rules:

1) Take a quality photo of your sneakers somewhere you love (or have someone else take it if the kicks are on your feet). It could be in nature, in action or just around the way, but a spot that has meaning for you.
