Mafia's Bespokes...

As I mentioned a few weeks back, Mafia (from Sneaker Freaker) and I were lucky enough to be able to go to Nike's Bespoke studio at 21 Mercer St in NYC last month. We had a great time, although all those choices can be quite 'whelming! Mafia jumped right in with an Air Max Infrared inspired design, and before long she got wide open with it. I love it!





As is the joy with nikeID and bespoke, mine could take a very different turn...

When your longtime sneaker pal comes all the way around the globe to hang out in the world's biggest apple, you gotta show her a good time! Of course for Mafia of Sneaker Freaker, this meant taking her to Nike Bespoke at 21 Mercer St. We loved all the materials and all the possibilities...

Come party with DJ Mafia......coming to NYC!

She always said she's coming and now she's making it happen! Woohooo! Welcome to the States DJ Mafia...all the way from Melbourne! And she's making the most of her sneaker fiending trip, with special DJ sets at Sneaker Friends in ATL on May 1, and then at her very own party in NYC! Brought to you by her good mates at Extra Butter, MTVTN and Sneaker Freaker, it all goes down at Gallery Bar (120 Orchard St, NY) next Tues May 4th. Of course there will be plenty of sneaker goodness going down from giveaways, sneaker displays and of course a bag load of bangin' tunes! If you're in the NYC area make sure you mark your calendars and get down to say 'G-Day' to M.A.F.I.A. and the crew. She'll also be in LA the week after, so stay tuned...

Female Sneaker Fiends Are Taking Over!

We knew Mafia since back in the day. In fact, if you look on the FSF forums, she started some of the longest standing posts we have. (Don't believe me? Check out "mo pickups" in the sneaker section--closing in on 300,000 views and over 300 pages!) Back when she was "just" a killer collector, we had her on our fiends page, and now she's got an updated interview in the Women in the Industry section. Why? Cuz she's repping HARD for the females over at Sneaker Freaker. Lead sneaker freaker, Woody, has always been a supporter of FSF and the women's game, but Mafia's taking it up a notch. This week is Ladies Week on the whole site, so look for interviews with Erin Magee of Made Me, Miss Yasi Salek of Cultist, Jee-Nice of Anattitude Mag, and much more, plus some of the hottest women's kicks out there. And if all that's not enough, she's taken it upon herself to start a section of the forums just for the females, called Sneaker Freakette. Keep it up Muff Daddy!
