NB celebrates the 20th birthday of the 576

Probably when the 576 was born 20 years ago, its parents had no idea how it would look all grown up. Back then it was built for function: a comfortable and popular running shoe at a popular running time. Now it's lost none of its functional form, but it's added a lot in terms of style and luxury. The Purple Rose birthday release highlights just that: it's not about the common man (or woman) out running on gritty dirt or grimy pavement. Oh no! This regal shoe uses purple velvet to tip its hat to the rose gardens of Versaille palace, not to mention white and gold silk stitching inspired by the layout of the garden itself. The soft white leather does seem fit for kings...or queens!

It's already available in Japan, and is being released in the U.S. starting May 15th and going for $95 exclusively at certain Footlockers and Footactions. Smallest size: 7 men's. Too bad it won't be out for Mother's Day!
