FDnyc Custom! DJ NORIE - Anything Goes!

I designed these for DJ NORIE of NYC's radio station Power 105.1 FM as a Christmas gift from one of his friends. When they called me about the design, all they wanted was his logo on the back as you can see. After doing my own research about DJ Norie, I was able to add his phrase "Anything Goes" on the toebox areas, as well as "MAODDDDD!!!!" ("crazy" in caribbean slang). His friend said DJ Norie likes black mainly, but also red, so I was able to create a nice colorway of black/white/red which he can wear with just about anything when he spins at the club or up at the station on Sunday nights from 8-10pm.

Follow DJ NORIE on twitter and let him know his kicks are MAODDDDD!!!!

LOVABLE BADASS - Artists on Artest

This past Saturday, I attended an art show celebrating the "Lovable Badass", Ron Artest.  Several Toronto artists dedicated pieces to Ron Ron in a variety of mediums.  As you know, the Lakers were in my town so guess who stopped by?

Feel free to check out my Facebook album for photos of the art work and event.  In the meantime, here are some video highlights via The Basketball Jones.

The Wizard of Oz meets Nike?

Well not quite. Artist (IN)Decorous Taste reconstructed a nike sneaker into her own Ruby Red slipper. Check it:

I know its not something most of us fiends would rock but you have to take it for what it is which is art. Who would have thought to turn a plain Nike sneaker into a ruby platform. Two thumbs up (IN)Decorous! :)

Put your best foot out.

I love twitter! Its like the melting pot for all sneakerheads. I came across @roboticsole she and @MaRv3l0uS_S0leZ along with some other ladies are putting together a book on the sneaker culture and community. She reached out to me because she needs more SneakHERHeads to be featured.

Over the past few years, female sole lovers have emerged onto the scene kicking down all barriers and redefining the term sneakerhead! Not just known for their sick kick collections, females are knowledgeable about the culture; it's history, current releases and contributing to the community through various blogs, websites and online shows which sole purpose is to gather more followers and give female sneakerheads around the world both exposure and more recognition! SneakHERHead is a chapter in the upcoming book MY SOLE where female kick lovers are spotlighted and are given the opportunity to show the world their SOLES! If you are interested in being featured you must answer the following questions:

> 1. Name, Age, Shoe Size, Hometown & Profession ( please include a picture of yourself

> 2. When did you fall in love with kicks?!

> 3. What was the first pair of sneakers you ever purchased?! Why did you start collecting?

> 4. What are your views on some of the hottest sneakers only being releases in male sizes?

> 5. As of today, how many pair of sneakers do you own?

> 6. What is your favorite brand and or sneaker to collect?

> 7. Why do you feel that females are not given the recognition they deserve in the kick culture?! What are some ways you think females can make themselves known within the community!

> 8. What's one thing you want all male sneakerheads to know about being a female sneakerhead?

> 9. If you can have 1 sneaker that wasn't released in your size what would it be?!

> 10. How do you contribute to bringing female sneakerheads to the forefront of the community ex: sneakerhead, blogger, online tv host, company owner. However you contribute please give brief background info on how you contribute!

> 11. How deep is your sole?

> Please include as many CREATIVE pictures of you and some of your favorite kicks or collection as possible! Your page layout will be based on the information that is submitted!

Sneaker Pimps NYC

The FSF crew were in full force at Sneaker Pimps NYC last weekend. We were reppin' New York, Miami and Toronto and you already know we brought the heat. You'll recall that JenJen and I met in Holland in summer and I've run with $A$ for a minute but it was amazing to finally meet the rest of the ladies! We were really missing the bawse lady Lori, and Precious, too. I'm back in TO now so here are some of my shots from the night. Feel free to check out more on my Facebook album. Peep the video to gauge the full intensity of the event!

Sneaker Budgetnista

Sneaker Budgetnista is what I crowned myself as of late. Usually I would throw down cash for a sneaker that I wanted but being that I became a "big girl" now it ain't that type of party. My two new sneaker purchases were absolute steals!! First up, is the Jordan Spizike "stealth" in black. I've seen these before when they first came out and wasn't too sure of them but when my girl and fellow FSF blogger Loni came down to NYC with them on I was like I need these! So I started my mission to cop these babies. Everywhere I looked had the retail price of 115. I was clearly not going to pay that. These have been out for quite sometime and there was no way they were still 115. I was just about to give up when the lovely Miss Feeway730 called me and told me that Niketown in Woodbury commons had them for 69.99 I was like for real?!! I'm on it! So I called Niketown and ordered them. With shipping and tax the total was $83.00.

My next pair that I copped was the air max 1 silver foil for Opening Ceremony. This shoe was part of a pack that came out in 2008 for the 2008 Olympics. They had a gold and a silver pair and supposedly there was 60 pairs made of each colorway. I remember I wanted the silver pair but wasn't trying to pay $160 which is retail price. So I let them slide. Well two days before Thanksgiving I was on ebay just browsing some kicks when I saw them!! This seller was selling them in my size which is a wm sz 8(6.5 in men) for (wait for it) $35.00 w/free shipping!! I quickly pressed the buy now button. And the best part of it all is they have never been worn! They came in the mail yesterday and I was percolating around the house! Funny thing is Flight Club still has these for $160. Lol

Now that I got two dope pairs of kicks at awesome prices, I shall be making it a new sport!

AJ1 Phat GS - For the love of the game

Dropping at Nike Harajuku tomorrow, the Jordan 1 Phat for girls comes in a hot pink nylon upper with black accents, black mesh swoosh and black midsole. These are a rarity because the "For the love of the game" collection to celebrate the 25th year of Air Jordan was in white/carolina blue. If they were my size I'd pick these up! How about you?

Swizz Beatz X REEBOK - GRAPE JUICE!!!

OMG! Here is another colorway Swizzy put on twitter and he calls them GRAPE JUICE!!! Juicy indeed! Last month I posted his 1st 2 colorways of the collab with Reebok coming next year and so did many other blogs. If he brings the heat with the kicks like he does with the beats, this will be a problem!
