Le Coq Sportif -- the Sporting Rooster is here!

You guys know I'm always open to an off-beat brand, so here's a look at what Le Coq Sportif, aka the Sporting Rooster, are bringing for the ladies these days...They've taken some old school styles and hooked them up with new materials, colorways, etc. What do you think? I love the first one, unsure on the 2nd (someone could rock the hell out of them, but not me! Very French, perhaps?), and the 3rd?? Wow. No can do.

With the election coming up and the fact that I have been watching Breakin' over the weekend. I came up with the ultimate breakdance battle. If you haven't seen Breakin' rent it now!! The teams would be called Republican Rock Vs DKO (Democratic Knock out). See Ozone would be Barack Obama, Joe Biden would be Turbo, and Michelle Obama would be Kelly. For the other crew McCain would be Poppin Taco, Sarah Palin would be that female in Electro Rock, and Bush would be Poppin Pete. The outcome will come out like this......

JUST FOR KICKS wrap up report

Hey ladies! Hope you are having a great time during the last weekend of summer!! So I went to Southpaw in Brooklyn for the event flyer I posted a few days ago. I was coming from Sole Food NYC in Manhattan and thought I would be arriving late, however, I arrived just on time! Paperchaser from OSD kept me company and I repped for the FSFer's round the globe for Dallas of OSD. Few minutes later, Reph Star & Patty Dukes arrive and the night was a go!! adidas Candace Parker Olympic PE pack

Candace Parker and the US women's basketball team are headed for the gold! They take on arch rivals Australia tomorrow (Saturday) morning at about 10am, US east coast time. Their depth and defense have led to a staggering win margin of over 40 points in most of their games, but Australia's definitely not falling like that! I think it's gonna be a nail-biter...

To celebrate their newest big name baller, adidas whipped together a player-exclusive pack including Ace's own Pilrahna (with LA Sparks colorway coming out as well), 2 colorways of a PE adiclub for chilling in between games, and some gear as well...

You can see how the Pilrahna is well-suited for Ace's slashing AND skying game. I bet she'll dunk in 'em soon...

Not entirely feeling the adiclubs so much...a bit golf-shoe like in the toe somehow...but I do like the clean colorways.

Reebok, give us a pack!

Well, everyone's got new stuff for fall, and we just got to check in with Reebok's Design Director of Lifestyle Footwear, Ben Kuchler, to hear about theirs. For the men (and those of us females with 6.5 men's size feet and up), they have dug into some classic silhouettes and produced some beauties, including new additions to the Elements collection, the RAD pack and the Sir Jam Pack.

I'm having a hard time choosing between the Elements and the RAD pack, personally. Such different approaches to the same sweet classic.

Now for the women....we don't get any packs, but we get some brand new silhouettes. Ben says they're "breathing new life into classic models... using new and fresh material stories for a celebration of Reebok's classic, timeless DNA". You see if you agree. Here's the clearly freestyle-inspired "Vollee":

This second one is the "Courtee", a "basketball inspired fashion silhouette" with a "women's stance" (?!?). I googled "courtee" to learn more about it and was humored to find out that a "courtee", according to the Urban Dictionary, is "A young woman in a love relationship with a courte with a declared intent of marriage." So maybe Reebok thinks it's courting us with these? I say if you want to declare marriage, I want a whole Pack! And enough with these girly stances. They'll probably fly out of the malls, but I want Reebok to aim higher for the ladies.

Ben says they are. He did promise that they're "working on a bunch of different collaborations for the women", including taking the freestyle to another level and debuting an upcoming collection (pack??) called "My Generation". Speaking of goofy names, vollee? courtee? Ben says the whole name thing is tough: "Designers often start off thinking of names, then the legal department gets involved, by the end, we're taking each other's last names and turning them inside out, etc." Hmmm, sounds fun, but until the dudes get a sneaker called Ballee, I'm thinking that's only half the problem!

I am still on the hunt for the all white blazer mid with canvas sides so while on the hunt I managed to find a few great pairs to finish up summer and welcome fall with!! Lori and ladies in Boston I know you are feeling the flavor!! But out of all of these, the soft, cream linen nike vandal lo's are my favs and I've had my eye on them for a few weeks now!! When I first saw these, the first thing I loved was the silhouette. But the major turnoff was the colorway. This shoe in my opinion would have been bangin if they got rid of the pink,purple and gold with some darker colors. I really like these but I will pass until they have better colorways. If your feeling them these will only be released in Foot Locker.
