Illadef: H+art and Sole recap Part 1

Even though I am not a big fan of Valentine's day, I wasn't gonna sit around here and be miserable oh no ma-am  that's not how I roll. So I headed on down to Philly with Pink Eye for the H+art & Sole event. This was my second time visiting Philly and I actually got to do some walking around before the event....

Pink Eye and I were dying to have an authentic Philly cheesesteak and there was no way we were leaving without having one. So we asked a bunch of Philly natives what was the best spot, and pretty much everyone said forget Gino's and Pat's go local. And that's exactly what we did, we ordered from this pizza spot call Lazzaro's and the cheesesteaks were jammin on the 1!!!

I go crazy whenever I see something that is japanese, pink and cute lol. We were switchin planes in London when I saw Gwen Stefanis new parfume called Harajuku Lovers. There is five fragrances, and the bottles are "images" of Gwen and her four dancers. I got my parfume from Sephora NY and it was very affordable 25$(for the smaller size). And I saw the clothing line at Virgin Megastore.



Love is a "sensuous floral" developed by perfumers Yves Cassar and Pascal Gaurin (notes: bergamot, pink pomelo, peach, bamboo leaf, watery peony, living hydroponic lace rose, jasmine sambac, nectarine blossom, creamy paperwhites, Egyptian jasmine, ylang ylang, vanilla, musk and blond wood).

Lil' Angel is a fruity floral developed by perfumer Christophe Raynaud (notes: raspberry, cranberry, blackberry, pineapple, pear blossom, violet, rose, lollipop accord, hinoki wood and crystal amber).

Music is a floral developed by Honorine Blanc (notes: clementine, pear, jasmine sambac, sweet pea, honeysuckle, vanilla, skin musk and sleek woods).

Baby is a "powdery musk" developed by perfumer Harry Fremont (notes: freesia, bergamot, white rose, orange flower, tiare, jasmine, white musk, soft woods, heliotrope, vanilla and violet).

G is a gourmand by perfumer Steve DeMercado (notes: mandarin, coconut, apple skin, jasmine sambac, freesia, magnolia, coconut cream, white sandalwood and cottonwoods).

The Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers fragrances will be available in 10 and 30 ml and they are out now!

Upper Playground-New York

I had no idea that this store existed in New York. Upper Playground has always been one of my favorite brands, with great prints and great quality. So we were just walking around when we stumbled upon the store. They had a big sale when I was in there, so I got some really good deals on the stuff that I bought. A real friendly and helpful girl was working when I was in there, so go check out Upper Playground!



The sweatshirt with Weezy and John Wayne is my favorite!!



I was wearing this shirt on the same day as we were flying home, didnt even think about it. When DEEP from 2HungryBros mentioned that maybe it wasnt such a good idea to board the flight with a tshirt print with a bunch of communist and dictators. Thanks for the advice DEEP!

Jason Markk on cleaning suede...

Try as we might, sometimes our favorite puppies get a bit, shall we say, dogged! So if you're chagrined that you just bruised the sweet suede toe of your favorite 180s/dunks/what-have-you, don't forget about the folks over at Jason Markk. Check their results...

And here are some free tips from Jason's blog:

How To Clean Suede:
1 Dip brush into bowl of water
2 Apply liberal amount of Premium Sneaker Solution to brush
3 Dip brush back into bowl of water
4 IMPORTANT!!! Shake brush to remove excess water
5 Gently brush suede creating foaming action
6 Wipe clean with towel, repeat steps 1-5 as needed
7 Back brush suede with dry brush or a clean, dry JM Premium Microfiber Towel
8 Air dry

A key step, again, is to remove as much excess water from the bristles as possible before cleaning. You want to have the bristles be just wet enough that when scrubbing, you are still able to create foam. You can achieve this by vigorously shaking the brush after dipping it in the water, or even patting the bristles down with a towel or a paper towel (without completely drying them).


After foaming occurs, promptly wipe clean with a clean, dry towel, back brush, then allow to air dry.

When cleaning suede, we highly recommend using a JM Premium Sneaker Cleaning Brush. The softer hog bristle is excellent for cleaning delicate materials.
