It's a theoretical paper about, 5000 words on how the range would be made, marketed, and sold.
Calculating cost for an imaginary trainer is the biggest pain in the ass! But once again makes it all the more realistic and really tests the viability of your ideas.
I've had the joy of reading all about
different types of brands and
marketing techniques.

My range theoretically:
- Will be released Autumn/Winter 2008
- Made in China with a percentage of the profit being given back to the manufacturing communities
- Ideally be for sale in two different trainer stores (one mainstream, the other tier zero so will stock 3 models exclusively)
- Will be a collaboration with an existing brand, extending and rejuvenating their current range (works on two levels- customers have already heard of the brand so less money is spent on advertising and it's a lot cheaper than starting up a new company)
- Advertising that will be employed are sticker campaigns, articles and reviews in trainer magazines and websites, and of course the new-era of Blog Marketing.
So, now all that's left to do is actually design the range and make a couple of the best models. I'm gonna be drawing morning, noon and night for the next week or two. A ridiculous amount of initial drawings need to been done to get ideas flowing, then a few of these are picked out and developed and then eventually 12 final designs will be looking back at me from the paper.
