New Balance's top-o-the-line Super Team 33s are out in their 3rd incarnation: the Fanzine. This version of the comfy 1400 hits 33 stores worldwide today. It was designed by NB's European squad and inspired by the popular DIY fanzines of Europe--where a fan of something would create a zine and print and distribute it to other fans...hmmm, sounds like an older version of a sneaker blog!
Anyways, these bad boys are out in 3 beautiful colors that reflect the most popular colors of fanzines back in the day. Other nice details include sturdy perfs in the toe that refer to the dots of the old typeface, and a multilingual pattern inside the shoe that pays homage to the universality of fanzines. The leather looks great, as does the ST33 logo on the heel and side.
I think these might be my favorites so far...
