I found the most interesting video of one of my favorite jewelry designers, Miss Melody Ehsani. If you don't know Melody Ehsani's work, then you need to watch a Keri Hilson video because that's all she rocks. And I would too because her jewelry is too fly. It's time for a music post!!!

Yes it's about that time to start jammin on the 1 again. I know I have been slacking, but I'm gonna make it up to y'all. So this week's music post goes to (drumroll)... Brittnay Bosco!!! Her sound is a very unique one. It's like listening to an old school jazz record with a hint of J. Dilla-- it's just bananas!! Not only can she sing, but she has a nice kick game too. Check her out.....

Do the Right Thing...

Unlike AIG, Nike seems to be doing the right thing by releasing the "Do the Right Thing" pack based on (in my opinion) the best Spike Lee film ever made. If you don't know about the flick than I suggest you netflix that bad boy. The pack consists of retro Air Jordan 1's in two colorways, one in metallic red (shown) and one in green. In the inside and on the tongue of the kicks are colors from the movie. Jordan will be releasing matching clothing as well. These won't be due until July. Pics and info:Weekly Drop

Speaking of the Wii Kicks....

Kicks Hawaii will dropping these bad boys this Saturday!!   I hope that they do come in a size 6, because those blazer are looking sweet!!

Wii Love Nike

This is a fun, if obvious, cross-branding, and I think Nike did it well in both the Blazer and the AF2. Not only are both Nike and Wii are at the top of their games, but they got there by honoring the consumer with great design and fun details. These have both!

Featuring a light blue tint on the midsole, resembling when your Nintendo Wii is on, crimson red outline for off, while the majority of the shoes are white, as the Wii. The heel tab features Nike in metallic silver, like parts of the Wii, but also contains ostrich print. Laces are similar to the nunchuck that ties around your wrist, and the lace holes contain microchip print with a reflective finish. Lastly, the tongue has the power off symbol. Nintendo Wii pack available Summer 2009.

Rumor has it they're coming in sizes 6-15, although I'm not sure we'll really see the smallest of those. Holler if you do!

Janine Simon wins Knicks Poetry Slam!

FSF's extremely talented intern, Janine Simon, not only recommends kicks for Mrs. Obama, but spits some fierce poetry! We're so proud to share the good news: Her recent 1st place finish in the Knicks / Urban Word Poetry Slam earned her $10,000 towards her education, $25,000 in Nike equipment for her youth program, a laptop and a printer! That's no joke. She beat out over 300 other competitors. Check her out...

adidas Originals, Concepts and hip-hop group House of Pain are celebrating St. Patrick's Day big time this year. The Bostonian House Party will feature the launch of the adidas Campus 80 House of Pain sneaker, as well as a DJ, complementary food and drinks, and House of Pain ready to sign your sweet new kicks...



Only 175 pairs of the adidas Campus 80 House of Pain shoes will be available at Concepts. The shoe's green, gold and white color way and deep suede exterior were inspired by the band's Irish heritage. The classic design is topped off with House of Pain logos and iconography.

Fans will also have the chance to win special edition adidas Celtics-inspired basketball jerseys and St. Patrick's Day adidas apparel will be offered as a gift with purchase of the shoes.

Every now and then a celebrity-sneaker partnership comes along that makes sense. No, I'm not talking abut Snoop Dogg and his Pony's. But I can actually picture Leighton Meester (of Gossip Girl fame) rocking these cute, retro-style Reebok Top Downs, can't you? (Though she'd definitely be wearing an ipod not lugging a boombox, let's be real...) Get Shamrocked!! Airwalk's St. Paddy's Day Slip on

Yes the title of this post is corny, but what are you gonna do? Airwalk released their St. Paddy's Day slip on and I know some of you are thinking the same thing I am which is "Didn't this come out last year?" 

And the answer folks is yes they did. I guess Airwalk took the approach of "If it ain't broke don't fix it"....

adidas All Star Jacket Contest Winners

Sorry for our delay! We received many great responses and heard about all kinds of wonderful "sisterhoods". What do "sisters" do for each other? It ranged from brute honesty "Shalonte is kind of truly honest and harsh with reality" to have-your-back lying, "Jess crashing her brother’s car for the third time and calling me at one o’clock in the morning just to get the story straight so that if her mom calls our stories are on the same page."

These lovely ladies I call my best friends, my family away from home and like my sisters. From left to right is Evelyn, Me (Gina), Alicia and Nel. We all have our busy schedules involving school, work and families but we are still able to be there for one another. We made a promise to never allow a long time to pass by without hanging out in a group, so we have a monthly activity just to make sure we get a good laugh in. Although we are four different women, we share the same morals and values and have been close for almost 9 years now; nothing can break us apart. There is nothing we don't share with each other, and we know that we are only a phone call/text away. Unique talents and interests makes us click and depend on each other. There has never been a dull moment and we are glad to have each other everyday. I don't know where I would be without these girls, I love you gals!

From the East Coast (and winning 4 EAST jackets): The BreakNYCe Crew!


This is my crew. We're 4 girls altogether and we come from all over: Washington, Michigan, Canada and Japan. But break dancing brought us together when we all met in New York 3 years ago. It's hard being a female in a male dominated dance scene, so having a crew there to support you is crucial. We train together, compete together, travel to jams together, buy sneakers together, laugh together and have cried together. We're a family at the end of the day, and when one of us has a problem, whether we can't get a backspin to look right or we can't get a job or are having problems at home, we are there for each other. We call ourselves the BreakNYCe crew, in tribute to where we met and live, because living in the NYC would not be the same without these girls!

And getting our last 2 jackets (one EAST and one WEST so folks can tell you twins apart...):


This is me and my twin sister. Yea we don't look alike at all, but we’re twins :) I love my sister to death because we been through many things in life. We really never had our parents to be there for us, so it’s been us since day one. So basically we feel like we only have each other. We help each other in many things from the simplest things to the hard things. Like simple homework, practicing for a softball game or like listening to each other. And helping each other on our struggles. We been through so much struggles on our life, but we stay strong because we have each other and try to make the right decisions to our problems. And that’s all it matters. And overcome them.

Runners up: The East Coast had most of the comp, and this was our runner up Emory team...then and now!
